“Time for Self Reflection” will feature new works by Tony Ortega created at Art Gym during his year-long sabbatical from teaching at Regis University, as well as a selection of his previous work. Collectively, the pieces will showcase the range of mediums Ortega has explored throughout his 36-year career, including papermache masks and animalitos, poltically-themed videos, etching, lithography, silkscreen, pastel, and photography. Ortega produced many of the new artworks with the help of Art Gym’s Printmaking Director Gregory Santos to create silkscreens, stone lithos and etchings.

“Wax Paper” is Art Gym’s second member’s show in the Common Space Gallery featuring artists Judith Bergquist and Gigia Kolouch. Both Artists have been members at Art Gym for almost 2 years and work alongside each other in Art Gym’s open workspace and encaustic department. Both artists work with nature themes and encaustic, yet their techniques and execution are distinctly different.
