Side Stories RiNo, the free-to-the-pulic, large-format outdoor film installation, will be closing this evening. This immersive event projects short digital works onto the exterior walls of buildings located in the River North Art District around Brighton Blvd.

The films are supplied by eight Colorado artists including Ella Vance, Daniel Fickle, Lares Feliciano, Brian Fouhy, Brendan Young, Kendra Fleischmann, Chris Sessions, and Studio Hippo.

Each artist received a grant to create a site-specific, 5-minute film loop. The film genres include live action, documentary, historical, motion graphics, animation, and experimental.

The eight selected wall locations are found at Mountain Towers (located behind The Source), Denver Diesel and Radiator, Great Divide’s White Tower, Catalyst, Denver Spring/Colorado Food Trucks, Plinth Gallery, Ardent Mills Grain Elevators (both South and East). This creates a walkable art tour experience through the neighborhood.

SideStories – RiNo Arts District

During this year’s annual event, an interactive map, audio tour, and other surprises will encourage you to view each installation while also benefitting from special offers provided by some of the local surrounding businesses. The map and audio tour make block-by-block suggestions for grabbing a quick bite or beverage. Thanks to Brighton Boulevard’s recent pedestrian and bike friendly enhancements including sidewalks, cycle tracks, and street lighting the event is easy to navigate for everyone, for a family friendly outing.

The event, now in its second year, was founded through a partnership between Mainspring, Mary Lester, /Martin Family Foundation, RiNo Art District, the Colorado Office of Film, Television, & Media, and the Denver Film Society.
